Our races are geared to getting people to have a fantastic, challenging and enjoyable running experience finished off with a brilliant medal and goody bag most big races would be proud of.
It is because we are both runners we aim to provide you with a special goody bag at all our races – these will have race spec tee shirts, mugs, pens and magazines – plus additional food and snacks at the end of all the races.

Richmond Park Marathon

Yes, you are more than welcome to enter one of our events. From one of the Richmond Park runs or our other 2 events to raise money for your chosen charity.
We will also be offering special Charity places to support our race charity Get Kids Going. To find out more please contact us.
Yes, the minimum age to take park in one of our marathons is 18 years old.

Woldingham Marathon

Yes, parking for approx. 200 cars onsite at Woldingham School, on the left side just before the school gates – please take care driving slowly along the private school road 20MPH.
Woldingham Station is the nearest rail station (direct from London/East Croydon)
Will be issued on the morning at venue from 7.30am.
Race briefing at 9.15am.
A fabulous bespoke medal will be waiting for you at the finish line, along with a goody bag and refreshments.
Can be left in the gazebo’s at your own risk with your race number/name on. One of our helpers will keep an eye on stuff but please leave precious items in your locked vehicles…
Trail shoes ideally… 80% of the course is off road and in late August possibly quite dry. If the weather has been very kind then road shoes would be OK. Additional garments if needed can be discarded/retrieved at the start/finish zone or aid station which you will pass through each lap. As can labelled drinks if you wish to bring your own.
Of course!! It is a very dog friendly route. Please be aware of the faster runners overtaking… and that part of the course is on road.
Yes you may. But please remove them when crossing any roads for safety!!
No. The footpaths and bridleways are open to everyone and you may be sharing them with locals walking their dogs!!
Yes. Eight hours. The course is pretty challenging (But I would like to get to the pub afterwards with you all too)

You must be at least 18 years old on race day to run the Vanguard Way Marathon.
The VGW Marathon course has been accurately measured and is 26.2 miles long.
No – we can only save the entry for another event next year.
Unfortunately we cannot offer any refunds or transfer places to next year. There are a great deal of costs involved in staging an event of this proportion, such as paying for staffing, infrastructure, hydration and medical cover, all of which aren’t recoverable.

No – there will not be chip timing. Time is obviously important to many runners – but also to savour the views and atmosphere of the route is important – in terms of toughness , its similar to the Three Forts, Worthing terrain in parts to give you a flavour of what to expect.
The race will start at 9.30am at the Lloyd Park, Croydon – Post code CR0 5RA. The Pavilion and Cafe will be open from 8am for food/drinks and changing .
Yes, there will be a baggage storage area for runners. Please attach the label showing your race number securely and visibly to your bag. You will need your running number to collect your bag after the race. More information will be in the race pack.
Yes – we will be able to accept some entries on the day.
The Vanguard Way Marathon time limit for the race is seven hours [ 7:00 ]. From 4.30pm onwards we will begin to close the HQ site at Lloyd Park.
We have first aiders on the course and first aid kits at all the drink stations – mile 6 , 13 , 20 and the start/finish area.
We are working hard to raise as much money as possible for the charities listed on our Run For Charity page. However you can raise money for any charity you like.
Yes, we would love to see people in fancy dress out on the course, but do practice in your costume before race day, you may find it hot or uncomfortable to run in. The local Croydon newspaper will be looking for the best fancy dress so you might get your picture in the paper.
We do not recommend the use of personal MP3 players on the course as you need to be aware of other runners and to hear marshals instructions. If you do wear headphones then it’s at your own risk.

Yes, all those runners who complete the race will receive a quality commemorative medal.
All runners will be provided with water before/during/after the race. In addition there will be food and drink concessions at the Pavillion Cafe in Lloyd Park itself. We will also provide fruit and runners energy foods at the drink stations to restock on levels to get you round the 26.2 mile course.
Yes, we invite all runners to bring their friends and families to Lloyd Park Croydon where there will be lots of free parking – in the car park or surrounding nearby quiet roads to meet and greet the runners as the come home to the HQ area.
MILTON KEYNES MARATHON
Water, Bananas , Biscuits and fruit juice and coke and sweets (jelly babies) – good runners energy foods. Available Start – 6 miles – 13 miles – 20 miles and finish.
Yes, we welcome entrants from overseas. Every runner will need to collect their race pack from the HQ / Information Desk on the morning of the race from 8am. The Information Desk will be located outside the pavilion cafe at Lloyd Park, Croydon.
Yes, we will be asking to have some sports massages at the finish in the park.
Yes, the VGWMarathon is licenced by UKA, and your time will be eligible as a qualification time for other marathons such as Boston and London ‘good for age’.
Yes, the VGW Marathon and Half Marathon have been officially measured by Garmin.
Yes, entering via runners world – there is a small charge for ensuring the online entry is processed – approx gbp 1.50/2.00.
Yes – only from VGW to Richmond Park Marathon 2017.
No – The use of wheeled devices like baby joggers, baby strollers, skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles or any other wheeled device are not permitted by entrants. It is also impossible to do so , given the terrain of the route involved
